My rabbit is not eating and teeth grinding, she has not gone to the bathrroom either?

She is 6 and I am worried if I take her to the vet they will just put her to sleep.

About two years ago, our guinea pig had the same symptoms. We took him to the vets. He was slowly starving because his teeth were not grinding down. We nursed him back and every six weeks we went back to the vet for what was listed as a rabbit teeth clipping. If she isn't eating or going to the bathroom she can't be very comfortable. You should bring her in to the vet. Good luck.
Reply:Rabbit pie for tea tonight I'm afraid...

But seriously take her to the vet, if she needs putting to sleep that's because it's the best thing for her otherwise you are being needlessly cruel.
Reply:Take her to vet, she may need to have her teeth clipped
Reply:Rabbits teeth grow continously. If you have not been giving her food to grind those teeth down they have probably gotten so long she cant eat and hurt. You need to take her to the vet for dental care. She may have a lesion or a blockage. You fear the vet will euthenize her but in the long run your starving her and refusing treatment which will lead to a horrible death. Get her to the vet. You'll be surprised of the outcome.
Reply:Try a soda cracker
Reply:Have you kept chewing blocks in the cage for her? If not, her teeth may have over grown which makes it very difficult if not impossible to eat or even drink water. She needs to be taken to the vet so if needed they can trim her teeth or figure out if something else is wrong with her.
Reply:You have to go to the vet. You have to make the decision to put her to sleep they can't do it for you. Think about it would you rather your rabbit die in pain, hungry and deydrated or just slipping into a sleep. Go to the vet now. Anytime a rabbit doesn't eat its serious.
Reply:oh since you are worried I should leave her in agony then.Best not upset yourself eh?

Teeth grinding is a sign of severe pain. You have a duty of care towards her. If she needs putting to sleep then so be it. She may have cancer.

Your feelings are unimportant in this. Your prime concern as an animal lover should be the welfare of your pet. Take her to a vet immediately.
Reply:This is a sign of pain in rabbits. Probably has an infection .Grow up and get her to the vet ASAP!!
Reply:Could be a tooth problem; could be constipation. Either could kill her. Any time a rabbit stops eating, you should take her to the vet. I know it's scary, but if she can be helped, the vet will help her. If not, at least you will know you did everything you could.
