Surefire ways to stop teeth grinding?

Please, no wise *** answers, this is something that seriously is affecting my life!

Surefire ways to stop teeth grinding?
ive done it for years. the thing is....are you grinding them because of stress or because of tooth misalignment? mine is because of stress and dental problems. i feel for you. i totally understand it is no joking matter. the pain is very real and can be very agonizing. For stress, you can ask your doctor for a mild anti-anxiety medicine. I was given Buspar. It will cause you to relax and stop grinding. It will not make you high or anything. It is relatively safe and non-habitforming. You probably would only need it for a short time. Other things you can do is imagery. You must learn to recognize when you are grinding and practice relaxation techiniques. What I used to do is lay down flat. Then close your eyes lightly. Relax. Imagine yourself lying on a beach at the each of the water. You feel the tide rolling in and out. You feel nothing but utter peace. As the tide rushes in over your whole body, covering all of you, including your head....you begin to feel the pull of the gentle tide going back out. As the tide is moving back out...you will feel all the stress and worries that have been plagueing your mind....being pulled and washed away with the tide. Everytime the tide rushes in you will feel the stress becoming lighter and lighter until its all gone. You can hear seagulls, etc. whatever makes you feel at peace.

Do not expect this to work over night. It takes practice. You have to learn to focus, and let go.

Another thing that you must do if possible...get a good day of exercise everyday. Even if you just start out by walking around the block until you slowly increase the activities in your daily exercise. It will help you relax and get a better night's sleep.

And of course...if its a dental problem....still do all of the above but make sure you get your teeth fixed as soon as possible. If its a financial problem...because I know dental care is very expensive...(i just had oral surgery and no insurance)....try applying for care credit at www.carecredit.com if your credit is fair, you may be able to get your work financed with no interest.

I wish you well. I wish i was there to help you. I totally understand your pain. I also understand jerks that make fun because the think its all in your mind and the pain is fake...ignore them. You work on yourself and get relief. God bless. If you need me...chat with me anytime...on yahoo. chandrabali_dutta
