Because ive always grinded my teeth and they are so straigh i dont need braces and other ppl have said that too...I thought it made them crooked...Hmmm?
Does GRINDING your TEETH make them STRAIGHT?
No, it doesn't, grinding your teeth and clamping down is not good for your jaw at all. After I had braces, I would always bite down hard to get used to the new bite, and I now have symptoms of TMJ, it's not fun. I wouldn't grind at all. But I don't think it makes them straighter.
Reply:No grinding your teeth doesn't make them straight.
It does make your teeth shorter over the years and for some people the teeth seem straighter because they are shorter.
Reply:I've never heard of that.. seems kind of silly..
My dad grinded his teeth for many years and now they're crooked, chipped, and worn down so much that he would be just as well off if he had no teeth at all. You should try to stop that..
Reply:No, It would make them fall and destroy your jaw.
Reply:hell No!! It would make them hurt really bad....and if u already did it, good luck eating sour stuff! Lol!!! =)
Reply:No, it's just a coincendence. However, griding can lead to more disease and pain by wearing away the harder outside part of your tooth.
Reply:My dad did that for years in his sleep and it wore down his teeth...now he has been going to the dentist and getting a ton of work done...they are adding onto his teeth and making them long again...Every time he comes home from the dentist his teeth look great, but I don't think the dentist is his cup of tea...or anyone's for that matter. I wouldn't grind if I were you.
Reply:no, grinding teeth just wears down the enamel. Doesn't have anything to do with being straight. Just good hygeine and hereditary. My husband has perfect teeth too, and only 2 cavities in his entire mouth, he is 46. He thinks it is because his parents gave him floride tablets as a kid. Could be I guess.
Reply:GRINDING YOUR TEETH WILL ONLY SERVE TO MAKE THEM FLAT AND YOU DEVELOP TMJD SYMPTOMS.
THIS RESPONSE IS FROM SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS DENTISTRY.
Reply:Grinding your teeth only creates another problem which is even more serious. TMJ which refers to your jaw. Grinding causes the tooth to become sensitive to hot and cold, exposes the nerve if very severe. If you want straight teeth, see a professional (dentist) please don't try to do this on your own. Good Luck,
Reply:Grinding your teeth will not make them straight or crooked. Over time you will grind your teeth down and that can cause exposed nerves which will mean you will need to have root canals done if you want to keep your teeth. It can also dislocate your jaw.
