How can I stop grinding my teeth at night (other than mouth guards?)?

Can someone also tells me what causes grinding them? I have a mouth guard but I always spit it out. Does anyone have any other suggestions? My house mate says it sounds like I am crumpling up a plastic bottle.

My father use to have this problem, when he was under a lot of pressure. I suggest that you relax a little, and before bedtime you shouldn't go on the computer or watch too much tv. Instead, you should relax about and hour before bedtime and day by day, this habit will slip away.

Hope that helped.
