I am grinding my teeth at night and I guess it is a good idea to wear a night guard on my teeth.?

When I went to buy one (about $20 in Walmart), on the package it said that if you have 2 or more teeth missing you should not use it. I cannot afford now the high price of the repairs and I was wondering if there is realy a problem with the night guard in my situation(?)

I would give it a try. Is there an 800 number on the box that you could call and consult with someone as to why missing teeth would be a problem. You do want a snug fit otherwise you spit the splint out in your sleep or worse yet choke on it.
Reply:That sounds just like my cousin. but he refuses to where a night guard. um yea i would buy one. hope that helped :]
Reply:Hmmm....I haven't read that....It doesn't fit so snugly that that should be a huge problem....I have worn one for years, with no issues, but I would check with your dentist to be sure.
Reply:forget that just use!!! who cares!!! or use the moldable ones that football players use
Reply:yes but go to a dentist to get it customized. if you don't, you might not have any teeth to grind when you get older
Reply:yes because you can wear down your teeth so bad you can hit the nerves and that would really hurt
Reply:the only thing that means is that it may move your teeth, the other teeth may be pushed into the gaps just mocing your gap and making your teeth crooked, ask your dentist or orthodontist if they can make you a nightguard
Reply:ask some1 u really need it grinding ur teeth is like cutting 1/4 of a centermeter off ur teeth every day

ask ur paretns for the money or get a loan
Reply:Shouldnt be...W/out the guard you could get TMJ..Ive had TMJ and it is PAINFULL.
Reply:yes get one
Reply:Stop stressing, this is #1 reason you grind you teeth. you can get a night guard for now.
