My baby is 13 mos, has 2 1/2 teeth and grinding his teeth in his sleep. Is it genetic?, coz I do it too?

My son, 6 yrs old does it since 3 when he started the kindergarden. Me or my wife never do. It connot be hereditery. I suspect some stress involvment in it.

I think they all do it.....they are getting used to the fact that they have teeth...they eventually stop..my daughter did
Reply:My daughter is 17 months with.. about 12 teeth and she is constantly grinding her teeth in her sleep and always has since she was 6 months.
Reply:Its not genetic. Both of U got magnesium deficiency. This predisposes one to grind his teeth especially during sleep. Deficiency of magnesium stimulates muscles to contract and at night, the contraction of the jaw muscles causes one to grind the teeth.

Give ur baby abt 80 mg of magnesium daily. For U abt 350 mg daily. Take the liquid form. It is absorbed better. Magnesium will relax the muscles and will correct the problem.
Reply:No dear, it's not genetic. LOL

Kids do that all the time.

My twins are almost 2 y.o. and had that phase too a couple of months ago, and one of them is starting to to that again.

My girls also did that.

I guess they do that because the teeth are growing and they itch or something and they like the noise too.

Twins always laught a lot when I say to stop doing that. LOL

Huge hugs
Reply:It can be genetic. My 4 y/o does it too. Our doctor said it's normal and they do it because of all of the built up energy they have. It could also be due to anxiety or pain... like an earache. Don't worry though, at this age it isn't harmful!
Reply:It could be, my best friend had always grindid her teeth and now all 3 of her kids do it too.
