How can I stop grinding my teeth at night?

it's not just teeth- this morning I woke up with a painful cut in my mouth.

How can I stop grinding my teeth at night?
This is something that's hard to stop all by yourself. Ask your dentist about it. I suggest you use Night Gaurd. It's this plastic thing you put on your teeth at night. When you grind your teeth, it won't damage your teeth. It might damage the plastic, but then you buy a new one.
Reply:You probably won't stop on your own.

The best thing you can do is have a nightguard made. It's a device that you wear at night to protect your teeth. Talk to your dentist.

Reply:certain medicines, mainly anti-depressants cause bruxism, or grinding. See your dentist for a night mouth guard, it help protect your teeth. If this dint help, check with your dentist.
Reply:some times it can happen from it being to cold, or stress. You can buy special mouth guards at medical stores to help.
Reply:Learn to handle your anger, resentments and frustrations, you will be much better
Reply:you buy mouth block, it;s like a retainer, you could ask a dentist to make it for you and you use it at night before sleep, so when your tooth grind, it will not touch each other, but it touches the acrylic

dont be a stressful person
Reply:There is no way to stop the grinding in your sleep. Your denist can give you a mouth piece or you can buy a cheap one at walmart. Grinding is brought on by stress and tmj it can cause your teeth to weaken even break. you can buy the ones football players use found in the sporting goods cheaper . My advice is to buy one quick before more damage is done to the teeth
Reply:You have a condition most likely referred to as Bruxism, it is very common in males especially younger males. The treatment is a night splint that is easily slipped in to the mouth much like a bite wing xray, it stops your teeth from connecting and hence the grinding is stopped as well. This usually works but in extreme cases the treatment may be more aggressive. Good luck, it use to drive me crazy when my hubby and son would grind their teeth like a polishing stone!
Reply:I agree with want2flybye
