How can I get my one year old to stop grinding her teeth?

Ive tried teethers and pacifiers and snacks..everything...she just grinds them even more! How can I make her stop? Can she damage her teeth?

I don't think you can get her to stop, but she might just stop on her own.

My son ground his teeth, and clicked them, once the front pairs were out enough to click. He'd wander around the apartment, click click click click. Drove me nuts. He stopped, all on his own - it was just a new thing he'd discovered, and was a new, neat experience! Then it was on to other new things.

For whether or not it'll damage her teeth, if she keeps it up it could over time. Perhaps take her to a pediatric dentist? You're 'supposed to' around a year anyway.
Reply:SHE MAY NEED TO SEE A DENTIST FOR THE RIGHT ADVICE.
Reply:my daughter is 15 months old and she did this too. i think that the new teeth feel funny to them and they are just "checkin them out" she will grow out of it in a couple of months after she gets used to them.
Reply:You have to take her to the dentist and he will have her fitted for night time mouth peice so she won't be able to grind down her teeth. She should get them soon as the jaw gets really sore from grinding the teeth so please just make her an appointment with the dentist.I hope this helps.
Reply:Just completely ignore her when she does it and she will soon grow out of this stage.
Reply:My son would grind his teeth too. Fortunately, it was just a stage for him and it only lasted about a month (although he did it when he was 7ish months old). Maybe each time you hear the grinding, brush her teeth to get her mind off the grinding. I'm not sure she can damage her teeth (just remember that these are not her permanent teeth). If she continues, I would bring it up at his/her next appointment with the pediatrician.
