Help my 6 yr old wont quit grinding his teeth?
The only thing you can do is to try and not worry about it. Many kids will clench and grind while sleeping, and really for no reason. Many will outgrow it by the time they are 8-9 years old.

Bruxism is a greater problem when all the adult teeth are in. Usually at an older age it is stress related and can then be addressed. In a 6 year old, I wouldn't worry about it.
Reply:Buy a mouthguard to sleep with. I've seen them at target
Reply:tell him to remember htis little rhyme every time hes going ot grind his teeth....

from this rule i wont depart,

lips together,

teeth apart
Reply:Bruxism (grinding of teeth) is usually brought on by anxiety or stress. If he refuses to wear a nightguard (really, the only treatment), maybe see if something is bothering him, making him worry. I know I grind my teeth a lot more when I'm overly tired and stressed. If that doesn't work, have his dentist talk to him about what he is doing to his teeth, wearing away the enamel that can't "grow back". Once it's gone, its gone.
Reply:Have him chew gum or carrots before bed. It tires out the jaws so they will relax at night
