my 3 yeaR OLD son has ben sick for a couple of days , last night he woke me up with his teeth gringing and his jaw muscles were clinched really tight i was wondering what this might be from and is it something i should worry about because i diid not get much sleep lastnight worrying about it
3 year old waking me up with teeth grinding?
I would call his pediatrician immediately. That does not sound good to me.
Reply:I happenes to some children. Do not worry. No damage will occur. It will end by itself. It often is very loud, but believe me, it is harmless.
Reply:my 6 year old does the same thing! sometimes its so loud i can hear it from her room. I took her to the dentist and she said its fine and lots of kids do it. She said there was no wear on her teeth so i guess its normal!
Reply:i dont know ask a the child care , doctor or somthing
Reply:Although children experiment in many ways (I have a three year old son and he has a new trick every day :-) ), but you say he has not been well for a couple of days, so why not consult a physician.
Reply:I would definitely call the pediatrician, and also have him checked by his dentist. Just to be sure... It may be completely normal, but do get him checked out.
Reply:He is going through the teething stage. Go %26amp; see a pediatrician first %26amp; ask the doctor about the need to see a dentist.
Reply:he should go to the dentist, they will get him a mouth guard to wear to bed, this is very common in children
Reply:Ask the doctor/dentist to put your mind at ease, but it is most likely nothing. My son is also three, and he does it. I was concerned, so I asked the pediatrician and the dentist. They both said it%26#039;s common in young children. If it got bad, they said they would give him a mouth guard, but it usually doesn%26#039;t cause any damage.
Now that I know he%26#039;s not really hurting himself, it%26#039;s mostly the sound that bothers me! For my son, all I have to do is gently tell him to stop doing it and he stops - he%26#039;s apparently a very light sleeper!
