How do I stop my baby from grinding his teeth?

My son only has 6 teeth right now, but there are times when he starts grinding them so hard that we can hear them crunching together. His dad does the same thing in his sleep when he%26#039;s stressed. Is there anything I can do to get him to stop?

My son did that a few months ago I was so worried that he was going to ruin his sweet little white teeth his Dr. said that he will stop before he does any real damage and he did.. I never hear him grinding anymore. Hope that helps
Reply:You may have to wait until he is older but there are sleeping mouth guards out that stops it when they are sleep. My bf has the same problem it sounds like he is eating or something in his sleep.
Reply:my son did that too, the doctor told me it was because he was teething and it wouldnt hurt him (although it wierded me out) until he did it for a long time. A pacifire works too if he likes it. Good luck

Reply:You don%26#039;t . If you make too big a deal out of it that can make it worse. He might out grow it. If you are still worried you can always take him to a pediatric dentist. He isn%26#039;t to young.
Reply:My mom is a nurse and she said there are mouth guards for sports. yo can cut them down to fit his little mouth (make sure there are no loose pieces) and when he falls asleep pull his lower jaw out and down like you do with CPR and put it in his mouth. i don%26#039;t know what you could do when hes awake maybe a binky?
Reply:My son is doing the same thing right now as I type and it drives me nuts! My other three did the same thing also while they were teething. It%26#039;s normal and it%26#039;ll soon be done. I really wouldn%26#039;t make a big deal out of it and I certainly wouldn%26#039;t put any mouth guards in his mouth. I give my son his teething toys when he really gets going with it and he%26#039;ll chew on those instead.
