Can you stop an 8-month old from grinding his teeth?

My son grinds his teeth during the day, not in his sleep (that I know of). Is there anyway to stop it? I have taken his pacifier away during the day, but I am thinking of giving it back to him because it prevents him from grinding his teeth. Any thoughts?

it%26#039;s a phase, he%26#039;ll grow out of it.

The sound is AWFUL though.. our 9 month old is really bad for that.

He just likes the sound.
Reply:It%26#039;s not going to hurt him to grind his teeth. He probably just likes the sound or feel. They%26#039;re temporary teeth anyway.
Reply:I think they do tend to outgrow that, but if you%26#039;re concerned it might be affecting his teeth, a dentist should be able to tell you what you could do, if anything.
Reply:give him some celery to munch on
Reply:I would let the dentist know and see what they think you should do.I never grew out of it and continued to do that in my sleep and still do. I was given a mouth guard to wear at night, Your child is to young for this, but his dentist will know what to do to help.
