Here's a two in one...bed time troubles & grinding teeth?

Unless my 23 month old daughter is exhausted, she will throw an absolute fit at bed time. Kicking the walls, screaming, even trying to climb out of her crib. We%26#039;ve tried everything we can think of. Rocking her (she just wants to play), leaving her (she%26#039;ll carry on for literally HOURS), keeping her awake (she passes us up!), night lights ect...attention issues or something else? Also my 11 month old son grinds his teeth ALOT. My daughter did too for a short time but got over it. Any tips to get him to stop? I%26#039;m worried it will mess with the teeth he%26#039;s already got, and the new ones to come....

Here%26#039;s a two in one...bed time troubles %26amp; grinding teeth?
For the two year old, there was recently an article for adults about sleep issues. I would try all those suggestions first:

No caffeine AT ALL the entire day - that would include chocolate, soda, tea, etc..

Get her up every morning at the same time. Absolutely no sleeping in. I would set the time around the same time that she will get up for school/preschool. Maybe 7:00-8:00. This one will be tough, because you will want the rest yourself!!!

Make a very strict bedtime routine and adhere to it, for example; dinner or snack (according to your dinner time), a warm bath, soft comforting night clothes, a story (with low lighting), etc..

If she outlast you, then check on her every 15 minutes. Keep the lights low and speak in a very low tone. If she wants to hear you, she will lower her screams. Quietly comfort her - without picking her up - tuck her in again. Do not make eye contact, turn on the lights, or speak in a normal tone. Make sure that you do that anytime that she wakes up. She must learn that nighttime means different behavior.

Remove all toys from her sleep area. If her room is full of them, and you are truly sleep deprived, you may have to consider moving her or them for a few weeks. She must learn that sleep time is different from play time.

Read some articles on those sleep music for children cd%26#039;s. I personally hate music at night, but if it might work?!!

For the 11 month old, see a dentist. They make mouthpieces that will help. Also, there may be a tooth problem that you don%26#039;t know about.

This will pass! Don%26#039;t forget how blessed you are to have two wonderful children.
