Is their a way to prevent someone from grinding their teeth while they sleep?

My brother is 12-years-old and he constantly grinds his teeth while he sleeps. I really wouldn%26#039;t care if he did but we share a room together. So every night I have to get out of my bed and wake him up on numerous occasions because his grinding is so loud and it wakes me up. He has done this since he was 5-years old and I cannot take it anymore. Is their anyway to get him to stop grinding while he sleeps?

Grinding your teeth is also called bruxism and it%26#039;s bad for your teeth. The dentist can give him a plastic mouthpiece called a %26quot;nightguard%26quot; that can prevent damage to his teeth and reduce the noise. I had one made for me.

Reply:a mouth piece will help a lot that what I was told from the doctor
Reply:Wal-Mart Sells dental guards for teeth grinding, they are in the toothpaste isle, not very expensive.
Reply:Your parents can get a kit at Wilmart for night grinding. Mine cost $20.00 and was a big help.

Too much grinding can break his teeth, I have broken 3 crowns from night grinding.
Reply:grinding teeth s n unconssious response that is done while sleeping. ask your parent(s) to bring your brother to the dentist and get him an appliance called a bruxism appliance, t will stop the NIOSE that you here every night and will also save your brothers teeth from weraring down, before he finds a wife in the future who cannot tollerate this noise that you are also hearing. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:My mom puts a wet rag in her mouth between her teeth to keep from biting herself and grinding her teeth due to muscle spasms. She says it works very well.
