What does teeth grinding while sleeping means? is it psychological or physical?

Go to your local sporting good store and get a mouth guard to wear at night. It is called bruxism and is generally related to a TMJ disorder. It can be corrected by anyone who specializes in both TMJ and muscle/joint disorders. Cranio therapists, chiropractors, and orthodontists should be able to help, or refer you to someone in your area who can help.

its just painful. i dont think there is a set cause for it.
Reply:i dont know, but i do it.
Reply:It could be either. Some people grind their teeth as a stress response.
Reply:yes it is psychological, and harmful it can cause problems with your teeth and jaws. so someone is dealing with that they should get it checked out.
Reply:It is usually caused by stress ask your Dentist about it they can make you a mouth guard that you wear at night so you don%26#039;t grind your teeth
Reply:Not sure if it is one of those but I used to have this prob, I was told it was because I needed to relax a bit more, seemed to be always stressed out about something or worried, try not to go to bed stressing about the next day, week, or your life!

I had to do jaw excersices, place your chin in the palm of your hand, and pushing your jaw shut while you try to open your mouth, do these every night beore you go to bed.

You can also try saying.. A,..E,..I,..O,..U,...but make your mouth open wide while saying these, this might help relax the jaw and it works, I don%26#039;t grind my teeth anymore, I know it sounds like a joke, but trust me I am serious, goodluck on a grinding free night.

Or if its not for you then tell your friend to do these.....
Reply:It%26#039;s a documented condition, and over time you can wear down your teeth and really damage them, I recommend getting a mouth guard for at night to protect your teeth.
